When it comes to college football, the Ohio State Buckeyes are one of the most well-known teams. On the basketball side, the Buckeyes have had their share of success. And when it comes to sports fans, some fans follow (mostly) one sport, while others follow all.
Justin Grady, a Columbus native that lives near the Ohio State campus, took some time to discuss Ohio State sports.
“I would say I follow football a little more, but I do keep an eye on the basketball team. Especially during March Madness time.” Grady said.
Grady then briefly mentioned his disappointment in not seeing them in the tournament.
“I didn’t keep up too much but I at least thought they would make the tournament.”
He also mentioned that his preference for Ohio State football stems from simply watching more football than basketball.
“Ohio State is Ohio State (whether it’s basketball or football), but I’ve always been more of a football guy.”
The Ohio State football team has several accolades. They have seven Heisman winners (with Troy Smith being the last to win), eight national championships, 41 conference championships and 55 bowl appearances. On the basketball side, they have one national championship (which they won in 1960), two NIT championships, four Big Ten tournament championships and more.
Ohio State football has tremendous accolades, but basketball has its share as well. And in the end, some Ohio State fans are rooting for them both.
