Now that the NBA season is over, one of the biggest basketball topics will be the NBA Draft. And the Buckeyes have a player in the mix.
Buckeyes forward Brice Sensabaugh declared for the NBA Draft earlier this year, and he intends to stay in the draft. There is a deadline for college players to withdraw from the draft if they choose to, but Sensabaugh is all in.
Sensabaugh averaged 16.3 points and 5.4 rebounds. He also shot 40.5 percent from 3-point range.
Sensabaugh had an impressive year. He scored 537 points total and by the end of the year, he was the first freshman since D’Angelo Russell (who played for the Lakers this year) to lead the Buckeyes in scoring.
The draft will be interesting this year, as Victor Wembanyama of France will begin his NBA journey. Wembanyama has the makings of a star, and his future will be the biggest topic of the draft. Then, there are other top prospects like Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson and Amen Thompson who will be top picks in this year’s draft. Sensabaugh is a projected first round pick, which means he could fall anywhere in the 15-30 range (if not sooner).
At 6-foot-6 and 235 pounds, he is NBA ready and can help out the right team. So, it will be interesting to see where he lands. The NBA Draft is the next step in many players’ journeys, and for Sensabaugh, the hard work he put in will pay off.
